Whether you're an SEO manager, content manager, or in content development of any kind, I bet
you've been asked to do more with less recently.
And I think I found a way to help you do some of that with a custom brand guideline reviewer
built in ChatGPT.
So that's what I'm going to walk you through today.
It's just a proof of concept I have pulled together to kind of showcase some possibilities.
So let's get started.
What I have plugged into this custom GPT are some brand guidelines, right?
This is something that your company probably has lying around.
You might just need to organize and get all in one place together.
But this includes a mission statement of your product and service offerings, the specifications
that you offer, the purpose and your kind of content vision.
And then of course, the style, voice, and tone of your content.
This was just a quick example, like I said, for proof of concept.
Of course, this would be much more encompassing for your brand.
AI-generated overview
Seer Interactive demonstrates a custom GPT "Brand Guideline Reviewer" designed to automate content's first-pass alignment check against brand standards, addressing the "do more with less" resource constraint. The GPT ingests company documents (mission statement, product/service offerings, specifications, content vision, style/voice/tone guidelines) and evaluates outlines or snippets for compliance. For fictional furniture company "Tom's Builds" (specializing in coffee tables/benches with sustainable artisan messaging), the system successfully flagged three test cases: (1) approved coffee table content as aligned with visual/descriptive voice and core product focus, (2) rejected desk content because desks aren't listed products, (3) rejected humorous/punny content as conflicting with "authentic, passionate, educational" voice principles. The use case is time-saving for content managers—quick compliance checks in "a couple seconds rather than 10, 15, 20 minutes" manual review—while requiring subsequent legal/SME review passes.
The custom GPT addresses "do more with less" resource constraints by automating the "first pass" content audit for brand alignment, reserving human review for "additional review, possibly from legal and other SMEs."
Brand guidelines input includes mission statement, product/service offerings, specifications, content vision, and style/voice/tone—creating a reference corpus the GPT uses for compliance evaluation.
The system successfully detected product misalignment when test content covered desks ("not listed among the products that you have"), demonstrating product catalog awareness from guideline documentation.
Voice/tone violations are caught even when not explicitly forbidden: humorous/punny content was flagged as conflicting with "authentic, passionate, educational, and inviting voice principle" despite no direct "no humor" rule.
